Command

Mana per Level: Varies

Casting Time: 1 Standard Action

Range: 60’

Target: Single Target

Duration: Instant

Avoidance: Spirit / Contested

SpecialSave difficult, Critical: Save very difficult

Type: Mind

You issue a command to a creature, compelling them to obey, whether it’s simple or complex. The complexity of the command affects the mana cost, as does the duration required for the creature to complete the task. The spell has no effect on undead or creatures that do not understand your language. It cannot force a creature to kill itself or engage in actions that would guarantee its death, but it can command nearly any other course of action.

  • 1 Mana: A single-word command, such as “drop,” “halt,” or “flee.” The target follows the command on its next action and can do nothing else for one round.
  • 3 Mana: A simple command like “pick up that sword” or “don’t harm him.” The target follows the command on its next action and does nothing else for one round per caster level.
  • 5 Mana: A more detailed command, such as “throw all your weapons into the river” or “stop fighting and behave.” The target obeys on its next action and continues for 1 minute per mana spent.
  • 7 Mana: A complex directive, requiring the target to perform a service or refrain from an action as specified. The target begins obeying on its next action and must continue for one day per caster level or until the task is completed.

Spellcraft failure: The spell fizzles and mana is lost.

Spell avoided: Target becomes dazed for rounds equal to mana spent.
