Protection from Ravaging can be used in two ways.
It can create a 10’ sphere of protection blocks all effects of ravaging when used to create mana. This also negates the ravaging mage from gaining the mana from the area. This protects anything within the sphere. This does not protect from magic cast with ravaged mana.
Each mana level gives 10 minutes additional duration and sphere gains 5’.
Spellcraft failure: The spell fizzles, and mana is lost.
