Transform

  • Mana per Level: 1
  • Casting Time: 1 Standard Action
  • Range: 60’
  • Target: Single Target
  • Duration: 15 minutes per mana
  • Avoidance: Contested Roll Spirit vs. Spirit
  • Special: Doubles the duration
  • Type: Utility

Use this spell to change a targeted being or object into a variety of shapes from the same relative type (animal to animal, vegetable to vegetable, mineral to mineral, etc.). If the target is willing (or the mage themself), no avoidance roll is required. The more mana spent, the more powerful the transformation will be.

Mana level 1: Small changes can be made – mainly color or shape. A mage could make an apple look like an orange of the same size. A mage could change the look of a person or creature, but not the SIZ.

Mana level 2+: A creature or object may be changed both in color and shape, as well as size. Targets gain +2 SIZ per mana level. The new shape has the outward attributes and limitations of the shape (including natural abilities, if any), but characteristics remain unchanged. Whenever applicable, the target’s characteristics and skills are used, or the base rating in a newly acquired skill (such as Fly).

The Transformation spell is broken if the item is damaged, or if the living creature is killed.

Spellcraft failure: The spell fizzles, and mana is lost.
